Annual Northern California Marriott Compaines Golf Invitational

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your generous contributions and participation in this year's 15^th Annual Northern California Golf Tournament for Charity, hosted by Sodexo and Marriott, The event took place on June 15, 2009 at the Blue Rock Springs Golf Course in Vallejo, CA. Even in these tough times, we were able to host 232 golfers. Although we are finalizing our results, we hope to be able to make a minimum $75,000.00 contribution. THANK YOU! This is a huge achievement this year due to the challenging economy that we are all experiencing.

The Sodexo Foundation’s Feeding Our Future, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, the Children’s Hospital Oakland and the UC Davis Children’s Hospital are deeply grateful for the donations they receive each year from this event.

In addition to this tournament raising $1.2M for our charities since it's inception, another milestone was achieved. A player from one of our sponsors, AVMS, Marty Smith, made the first hole in one in the 15 year history of the tournament. We thought you would enjoy what Marty's boss, Jim Jungsten, had to say about Marty's accomplishment:

"It took Marty 30 years of playing golf and today, he got his first hole in one on a par 3, 11th hole (hit a 5 iron) at Blue Rock Springs Golf Course. It happened at the Annual Golf Tournament. It was the first hole in one in that tournament in fifteen years. Odds of a hole-in-one are 12,000 to 1. Way to go Marty!!!”

It requires a lot of support like yours to make this event such a great success. Although we all had fun throughout this event, it really all comes down to the financial contributions that we are able to make that ensure the viability of these important charities in the Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area.
